Medical Optometrist
Dr. Leslie Weintraub, an experienced Medical Optometrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, is an integral member of the team at Catalina Eye Care, P.C. in Tucson, Arizona. She specializes in comprehensive optometry, which includes the diagnosis and management of eye diseases such as macular degeneration and corneal trauma, diabetic eye exams, specialty contact lenses, pre-operative and post-operative cataract surgery care, double vision, and glaucoma management and treatment. She also offers BlephEx and Tear Care treatments for dry eye & blepharitis.
Dr. Weintraub earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. While at Cornell University, she was named to the Dean’s List and received the Eastman Rice Speech Award. Dr. Weintraub earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she was awarded Outstanding Clinician. She then continued her training with an Externship at the Eye Institute of Southern Arizona, where she co-managed cataract surgery patients.
Currently licensed to practice in both Arizona and California, Dr. Weintraub is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Optometric Association, Arizona Optometric Association and Maimonides Society, a foundation that promotes fellowship, learning, volunteerism and philanthropy among Jewish healthcare professionals. Additionally, she serves on the Executive Board at SAAVI Services for the Blind, and is co-author of a book entitled Forensic Aspects of Vision & Highway Safety.
Originally from New York, Dr. Weintraub devotes much of her free time to supporting various charitable organizations throughout the Tucson community. Aside from her many philanthropic activities, Dr. Weintraub enjoys classical ballet, skiing and tennis. She and her husband have three children.
